It’s the people at WHP Trainingtowers who are truly behind our success. We sat down with Bo Bailey, Production Manager, to find out a little more about his job and his life:
How long have you worked at WHP?
I have been with WHP Trainingtowers for eight years.
What are you responsible for?
I am responsible for all things relating to manufacturing of our steel products. First and most importantly is safety. I make sure all employees are using good safety practices and ensure they have what they need as far as PPE is concerned. I also find new ways for our company to be more efficient and effective by implementing new technologies. When we have a new machine come in, I set it up and also learn how to program and run the machine so I can better train and help the machine operators. I also was a welder/fabricator when I started, so I always help the welders out by giving best practice ideas on building components when they are going through our fabrication process.
What do you do on a daily basis?
I track what is in and is going to go through production and adjust for any outside factors. I make sure everyone is on task and knows the parts they need to work on. I’m also responsible for making sure the facility is all running smoothly.
What do you like most about your job?
I like the problem solving that I do almost all the time. It makes work fun and challenging. I’m not a person that enjoys idle time well. So firing on all cylinders for ten hours a day is really fulfilling. Learning to put together, run, and program machines and then also teaching a technician to do it is really fulfilling.
What makes WHP a great place to work?
WHP is a great place to work because it gives the employees a place to grow professionally. I have learned an incredible amount in the last eight years.
How do you help clients?
I help clients by giving them a quality, well-built product that will last.
What makes you proud about WHP Trainingtowers?
I’m proud of WHP because we build a great product for our customers and we are also always trying to look ahead and produce innovative ideas for the future.
Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of work.
My wife and I live in Shawnee, Kansas, with our two girls who are 6 and 4. I love hunting and fishing as much as I can, and going on vacations with my family. I love seeing live music and comedians with my wife too.
We appreciate you, Bo Bailey, and all the production tasks you juggle so well. At WHP Trainingtowers, we provide the highest quality, most rugged metal fire training buildings available. This wouldn’t be possible without our talented and dedicated team members.
