Realistic Training Scenarios Help Prepare Firefighters
At WHP Trainingtowers™, we are dedicated to firefighter training and safety. Besides building the best fire towers in the industry, we also create and supply a wide variety of hazmat props to provide realistic training scenarios. Our Hazmat Instructor Series™ is a collection of props designed to create realism by using air compressors to simulate smoke, liquid spills, gas leaks, falling cylinders, exploding drums, and more.
Firefighters can choose from almost a dozen different hazmat props. From leaking industrial processing and storage tanks with fume clouds and violent boil-overs to full-size chlorine cylinders and 55-gallon drums that explode, all of the hazmat props are designed to give the trainee the challenge of dealing with a “real” incident. These training scenarios allow them to practice on leaking pipes, manifolds, flanges, valves, and seals, falling cylinders, and running spill fires.
Remote Control Panel Keeps Each Scenario Unique
Our Hazmat Instructor Series™ training trailer comes equipped with a Control Panel. This handheld tablet allows the instructor to manage all operations of the props while overseeing the trainees in action. Instructors can control the scenarios remotely keeping the training fresh and unpredictable. For safety and training control, the console has emergency stops, pauses, and re-dos.
Making Hazmat Training Mobile
Firefighter training is critically important. At WHP Trainingtowers™, we realize that the more firefighters who can have access to these hazmat situations, the more prepared they will be. That’s where the idea for The Hazmat Instructor Series™ training trailer came from. We are excited to be able to offer our new Hazmat Instructor Series™ training trailer. This trailer system makes hazmat training mobile and therefore more sharable. Departments and fire districts can coordinate fire training schedules thereby making it more affordable too.
A Variety of Hazmat Training in One Trailer
The Hazmat Instructor Series™ training trailer system is designed around a custom enclosed 8.5′ X 36′ gooseneck trailer with 8′ interior height. The trailer has a built-in equipment area to operate the Hazmat Props in the front of the trailer as well as access to the electrical panel. The trailer has a 15,000 btu A/C heat unit, an aluminum tread plate floor with two floor drains, three flip-up access side doors, a rear drop-down ramp door, electric leveling jacks for all four corners, and LED lighting throughout the trailer.
The Hazmat Trailer Comes Ready for Action
The Hazmat Instructor Series™ training trailer is plumbed and wired for the included props (1-ton chlorine cylinder, leaking drum, reacting drum, leaking tank, falling cylinders with rack, sprinkler system, leaking training tree, and smoke machine) and comes with our wireless portable control system that controls all of the props in the trailer. It is GSA-approved and ready for purchase. We can even customize the training trailer with a graphics package and special colors.
Bringing Hazmat Training to More Firefighters
We offer a Grant-Eligible Hazmat Instructor Series™ package that includes five portable hazmat training props and a hand-held control panel. And now we are proud to offer our Hazmat Instructor Series™ training trailer as well.
