Meet Alan Henderson – Your Training Tower Guide from Budget to Building

Alan Henderson WHP Training Towers

Alan has been a part of the sales team at WHP TrainingtowersTM for 11 years. He is a graduate of Wichita State University’s Business Marketing program. His earlier experience as a draftsman, combined with a 40-year sales background within the building products industry, gives him the skills and knowledge to help our customers with everything from designing a new training tower to enhancing an existing tower. He knows our products inside and out and can help design the type of tower needed while staying within a budget. His accurate estimates make the custom design process smooth and seamless. The result is happy clients who get exactly what they expected.

WHP Training Towers Are Custom Designed

From beginning design planning, to determining training needs, to budget analysis, Alan takes customers from uncertainty to complete satisfaction. It starts with designing a simulator that meets the training needs of the customer. “I start by listening to their needs and really getting an understanding of what they are trying to achieve with their training program,” Alan said. “Every customer is a bit different. Fire training towers aren’t a one-size-fits-all kind of product. We want to make sure every district or department gets the tower they need.”

Balancing Fire Training Tower Budgets

Once customers have determined the training needs, he turns his attention to budget analysis. Sometimes he works directly with the customer and sometimes with architects. “Designing the best tower for their budget is the part I take the most seriously,” Alan said. “We work together on determining the size of the training tower needed to meet their needs as well as determining training prop selection and placement within the training tower, all the while keeping the indicated budget in mind.”

Fire Training Tower Maintenance Assistance

WHP TrainingtowersTM is a turnkey contractor. Not only do we sell the buildings, we also supply labor to initially erect the structures. Besides assisting in planning and developing training towers, WHP provides solutions for maintenance as well. “Our training towers are built to last and that means there is some maintenance required over the years to keep them operating properly and safely for the firefighters training in them,” Alan said. For existing customers looking for assistance in maintaining their training tower, WHP helps by providing NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) inspections of their existing training buildings. “We point out what deficiencies they may have in their tower to ensure that their training tower is kept at its safest level.” At WHP, we also sell individual components of training towers so that the customers can maintain their structures for many years into the future.

Alan says the thing he likes most about his  job is assisting fire departments and educational facilities by ensuring that training is provided in a safe realistic manner. “When these firefighters go out there with real fires and dangerous situations, we want them to be as prepared as they can be,” Alan said. “Our training towers are a big part of that safety training and that makes me feel really proud.”
