Meet Ivan Robison, Drafter

Ivan Robison, Drafter at WHP Training Towers

It’s the people at WHP Trainingtowers™ who are truly behind our success. We sat down with Ivan Robison, one of our Drafters, to find out a little more about his job and his life:

How long have you worked at WHP?
I have worked at WHP for nine months.

What are you responsible for?
I am responsible for converting 2-D AutoCAD drawings into AutoDESK Fusion 360, 3-D drawings. These drawings are then used on our XR12 CNC Rotary Plasma Cutter and Plasma Table to produce individual parts. The Fusion 360 drawings are now also used by our fabricators and welders to assemble our components for our MODx and fixed training towers.

What do you do on a daily basis?
I collaborate with the Head of Engineering, Design, and Drafting. I make changes to existing drawings and create new updated 3-D drawings.

What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy the daily challenge of creating drawings that are used in several aspects of the shop’s production as well as the interaction with the shop and Engineering and Design team members.

What makes WHP a great place to work?
The work environment is fantastic! All the team members treat each other with respect and appreciation for what they do to create a finished product that all the members of the company can be proud of. WHP goes above and beyond making sure their employees have all they need to be successful, from top-of-the-line equipment to cutting-edge software and programs.

How do you help clients?
Although I do not work directly with clients, my work contributions help to create products that are manufactured to our clients’ needs and specifications.

What makes you proud about WHP Trainingtowers?
The thing that really makes me proud about WHP is the fact we design and create buildings that are used by first responders and firefighters to train for their jobs which put their lives in danger every time they respond to a call. The thought that our structures are being used to aid in their training is very uplifting.

Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of work.
I live in Butler, Missouri and have been married to my wife Becky for 38 years. Becky and I have raised three children who have blessed us with nine grandchildren. We are both retired school teachers. If I am not working at WHP you will find me in the woods or on the water as I am an avid outdoorsman. I enjoy all types of hunting but I enjoy predator calling the most.

At WHP Trainingtowers™ we provide the highest quality, most rugged metal fire training buildings available. To learn more about WHP and what makes our training towers the best, call 1-800-351-2525 or for international calls 1 913-385-3663 or contact us online.
