It’s the people at WHP Trainingtowers™ who are truly behind our success. We sat down with Chris Lacombe, our Head of Outside Sales and Inspections, to find out a little more about his job and his life:
How long have you worked at WHP?
I have worked for WHP in different capacities for over four years.
What are you responsible for?
Louisiana is my dedicated sales area but I can also assist departments from around the country when needed. I am part of a team that assists customers at trade shows throughout the year and I perform the NFPA 1403 inspections on existing towers.
What do you do on a daily basis?
I make phone calls or utilize video conferencing with department officers to help them design the best possible product that will satisfy their needs. Several times per month I fly to perform inspections all over the country.
What do you like most about your job?
I like having the opportunity to sell the best product of its kind. I get excited telling fellow firefighters about our product and how we can customize it just for them.
What makes WHP a great place to work?
My leadership team cares about doing the right thing and they share my excitement for the product.
How do you help clients?
I utilize the knowledge that I have gained in my 35 years of fire department service along with my extensive construction background to help them design the best possible product customized just for their department’s needs and wishes.

WHP has been around the longest and has built over 1,000 projects. We always strive to make the customer happy by providing the best possible product on the market.
Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of work.
I grew up in Louisiana and I retired from the fire service last year as an Assistant Fire Chief of a very progressive Department. I was also proud to be a part-time Sheriff’s Deputy for 25 years. I have worked in construction for over 30 years and have built many different things from furniture to houses to metal buildings and swimming pools. Last week my wife and I moved to our dream property near Chattanooga, Tennessee and our daughter moved to Knoxville, Tennessee to attend UT. I am just beginning to build our next, and hopefully last, ICF (insulated concrete forms) house. We will also be starting a small farm and traveling the country in a camper van that I recently built.
