Meet Jason Krautter. Jason is one of our sales reps who serves the southwest region of the country. Jason lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife, Leah, along with their eight-year old son and six-year-old daughter. He enjoys hiking and getting outdoors, citing hiking the Grand Canyon as one of his favorite adventures.
With his background in business development, architecture, engineering, and construction, he possesses the perfect combination of skills to understand our customers and their needs. Krautter instinctively knows the product and the parameters to be able to offer solutions that work.
While knowledge is a huge advantage, Krautter says his secret weapon is authenticity. “Business development is really about building relationships. It involves a lot of listening, especially in the beginning, and once you have a good picture, then you start to delve into the details,” Krautter said. “Every project is different. It’s like solving a puzzle.”
Krautter said communication is key. “I speak with the customer and get a good understanding of what type of fires and situations they typically deal with and then start narrowing it down to which kind of training tower and equipment would best serve them,” he explained. “Every fire department is different. Some may need more HAZMAT training, others may want high-rise type features in their tower. Sometimes a fixed training tower makes more sense and sometimes our MODx (modular tower) is the best solution. It all depends on the customer and their unique circumstances.”
Krautter said he takes a lot of pride in the WHP products. “One of the nicest things about working at WHP Trainingtowers™ is the quality of the products. Our buildings are designed and built to last,” he said. “Working with the company that set the standard for fire training buildings is amazing. I know when I sell a product, my customers are going to be happy for a long, long, time. That’s why I love this job.”
