This challenge drove the development of our mobile Hazmat Instructor Series™ training trailer, designed to bring life-saving training directly to those who need it most.
With this trailer, firefighters can train on a variety of hazmat props, including full-size chlorine cylinders, leaking tanks, and compressed gas manifolds. The training scenarios are controlled remotely via a handheld tablet, allowing instructors to adjust and manage the exercises in real time. This ensures that each training session remains unpredictable, challenging, and as close to real-life emergencies as possible.
A computerized control system allows instructors to change the exercises each time so the trainees don’t know what to expect. A central control room features two 42” touchscreen control panels, remote camera monitors to observe exercises, and a full sound system specific to props to create the most realistic scenarios. A computerized simulator located in a mechanical control area is capable of integrating sound, smell, visual, and tactile effects, to immerse the trainees in the most realistic experience possible.
Additionally, the trailer is designed to be grant-eligible, further reducing the financial burden on fire departments.
